The George Disney trail is said to be one of the most difficult short trails in Georgia.
It’s only about a 2-3 mile round trip but you feel it on the way up and on the way back down.
Beautiful views from the top and well worth the climb.
The trail starts in Dalton GA behind the Church of the Nazarene in the corner of the gravel parking lot next to the family life building. There’s a little sign at the edge of the parking lot.
Long Creek falls is a 1 mile hike in Fannin County Georgia. It’s slightly uphill all the way to the falls and downhill all the way back.

There’s a few parking spots on the edge of the road. There’s even a note on the Benton MacKaye/ AT (AT is hiker lingo for Appalachian Trail) sign assuring you that the falls is that way.
Optional: while waiting for your friends to arrive: Have a snowball fight with a snowman.

The heavy snow weighed the trees down so the trail seemed narrower than it really was.
Since part of the trail is on the AT we met guy from Michigan on his mission to hike the whole AT.
There’s a sign marking the turn off to the falls. And you might see a friendly snowman too if you’re lucky.
There are a few off trail additional little waterfalls.
Tiffany was hard core and went all the way down the bank for a better photo.
This off trail falls was much easier to get to.
It wasn’t raining and it wasn’t snowing but it felt like both most of the hike with the melting snow falling out of the trees.

Georgia has made the same resolutions everyone else has made over the years (lose weight, watch less television, eat better, bark less at Iggy, be a better dog, etc.), but always failed.
For 2013, She decided to do something a little different. She made a series of one-month mini-resolutions.
January is get out for a morning walk every day no mater how cold out.
February is no texting while driving
March is no barking at Iggy
April is no cat chasing
May is learn something new
June is to get more organized.
She’ll continue her list for the rest of the year after she gets organized.
Georgia is really happy to have a new ball. Somehow she lost her others. Well it may, just may have had something to do with that yappy dog next door that comes out to bark every once in a while. she may have been on her way to fetch the ball but then stopped mid fetch to run down the hill to bark back to Yappy dog. And by the time They were done exchanging barks… the ball, What ball? Yeah Where’s the ball?
If you’d throw it for her she’d really like that too.
And again.
On another note, I’m disappointed that Old Navy seems to had discontinued my favorite 2.50 flip flops. I don’t know what I’ll do when these wear out.
But if that’s my biggest concern in life I guess things aren’t all that bad.
For some reason they think I need a bath. It’s not like I don’t get plenty of baths on my own, I go in the frog pond quite a bit and I run through the creek. But for some reason they want to give me a bath with that funny smelling soap.
I put up with it and humor them, it makes them happy and gives them something to do. Plus they got that tick I’d been meaning to tell them about. It actually went more like “Oh my gaawd! Is that a tick?!” I got excited and tried to jump up and look but just got told “No, no, don’t shake.” I didn’t mean to shake, it was just my tail that got going.
Then they put me right in that red tote! I thought I wouldn’t like it, but on a day like today it felt pretty good.
I still wanted to get out and have a luxurious shake.
I was really thinking about it.
I gave a quick Dick Cheney smile.
Oh yes! Fetch, I’ve gotten better at that, I bring the ball back 99% of the time now and people want to play with me more. It’s great!
But sometimes when I try to get fancy
I miss the ball and have to turn around real quick. I like how the dust stirs up and sticks to my damp coat.
I was tempted to stop right there and roll around in that dust
But I like catching that tennis ball in the air and I really like those random biscuits
that come from that jar.
I really don’t have favorites, well I do I like the yellow ones and I like the orange ones and the green one and the red ones. I was so excited I think I swallowed the first few without chewing at all.
Even though I might not have wanted a bath I feel great now.
Georgia likes to do impersonations. She has natural talent in this area.
