Plant a few Zinnias and you have a butterfly garden. I don’t know enough about butterflies to tell you what they are. But they’re here.
That’s all for now I have enough mosquito and Chigger bites to do higher math! Rrr.
Where’s the clear nail polish?
10 good reasons to visit Max Patch Mountain in North Carolina.
1. To get there for the morning light.
2. To exercise your camera.
3. To meet Lucy, a tiny puppy on her first hike.
She was so cute and fuzzy and when she curled herself up on my lap while I was trying to take her picture I almost thought I needed a puppy.
And if you’re real lucky you might get to help wag her ears for her.
4. To help Adam check out the axels of his blue car before they went home.
5. Eat cookies with a boy scout troop.
But you have to do it right, gotta lick out the middle first. It’s a scout rule.
6. To just follow the little paths all over the top of the grassy mountain.
7. Fly your kite
Paper airplanes were tried too but they didn’t turn out so well. So never mind about that. Kites are way better up here.
The breeze is usually pretty good at the top.
And if you don’t have a kite, fly your tent!
In Moments like these I’m glad I carry a camera.
8. See a rainbow
9. Watch the moon rise.
10. Just watch the light
and watch it change by the second.
11. To remember to just breathe.
12. To Jump.
13 To watch the sun go down.
14. To Practice more HDR.
15. To just be thankful for everything good in your life.
Georgia is a good sport and helped me out on the toothbrush photos. I was starting to feel sad that #photoadayJuly was over but Photoaday is not over! I’m very happy to find out that Fat Mum Slim is doing photoday for August too!
I can already tell it’s going to be just as much fun. If you haven’t decided to join tomorrow’s a great time to start click here for instructions on how to play.
I’ve almost grown used to the crazy Kudzu that grows along the roadsides of Tennessee but every once in a while I stare at it like I did the very first time I saw it.
The boys, I use that term loosely there’s a girl who drives one of the haul trucks on that job, well I think it’s a girl anyway could be a guy with very pretty long blond hair for all I know. Anyway THEY are still working on out on Highway 30 it’s looking better and better every day.
Please don’t ask me about the thing on top of that car, I have no idea what it is supposed to be.
Pear smoothie colored with beet juice. Lucy’s water bowl but for today I’m calling it a cup. Oh and the bug that fell into my smoothie while I was trying to take a picture of it.
From the dollar store, the real dollar store where everything is a dollar.
As Georgia always says: “Brush only the ones you want to keep”.
#Photoadayjuly is turning into more and more fun.
I found out that July is national ice cream month and the 21st is national ice cream day though there are conflicting reports that it might be the 15th but that’s ok you really have the whole month to celebrate.
So we had to celebrate appropriately.
Trying to find a stranger proved harder than I thought.
I first thought this guy’d do but he knew me! I didn’t remember him. shh, don’t tell him. There I was thinkin’ now all I’ve got to do is ask if it’s ok to take the picture, when he looked up and said hi and didn’t we just do tires for you, you have the blue truck right?
So back to square one, who do I not know?
Then I got talking to Addie and even though we’d never met before, we got talking and became friends right there. There was just no way she could count as a stranger.
After a bit I asked her if I could take a picture of her doll, the baby doll on the floor. She picked her up for me to see. I asked what her name was. She looked concerned, then said I don’t know just a minute l’ll ask my dad.
Dad Looked over and said I don’t know, maybe you never named her yet.
I suggested naming her Maya since that was the name of the last baby doll I’d met. She was going to give it some thought first I’m sure.
I asked Dad if it was ok to take pictures of his daughter and doll and explained that I needed a photo of a stranger and this doll seemed to be the perfect stranger since none of us knew her name!
