Seeing a waterfalls like this makes it all worth getting up     

 

at some ridicules hour of the morning.

 

I didn’t see any fire and I didn’t see any gizzard. Where do they get these names? 

 

The morning light was too perfect.

 

I’m going to sound repetitive here, but the morning light Was Too Perfect.

 

By the cave entrance there were some icicles even though it didn’t feel that cold.

This waterfalls is off the Fiery Gizzard trail just before the Dog Hole intersection. Like I said, don’t ask me where they get these trail names!

Rhonda said there wasn’t any water flowing in July when she was there last, so in addition to the poison ivy being not so bad at this time of year there are also better waterfalls.

This is my second version of Lima bean dip. This time I added taco seasoned cooked ground beef in a layer on the bottom  to encourage  dipping all the way to the bottom.


I used one package of frozen baby lima beans cooked in a little water.


I let them cool a little.


Next I Blended beans with 2 cups of water, lemon juice and a pinch of salt.


Added more water so the blender would keep going. It was kind of bogging down with all those beans.


Then I got every thing out. Really more cheese is preferable. This is just all that there was in the fridge.


As planned I started with a layer of ground beef.


Then cheese. If you have enough cheese, don’t be cheap like I was.


Next layer on the lima bean puree, parsley,


Greek yogurt,


and tomatoes.


Top with more cheese and


a sprinkle more of parsley.


That’s all.
Serve immediately or make ahead.




Baby lima bean layer dip
makes two 7 or 8" dishes of layer dip

• 1 16oz package frozen baby lima beans
• 2 cups taco seasoned cooked ground beef
• 1-2 cups shredded cheese
• 1/2 cup chopped parsley
• 1-2 cups chopped tomatoes
• 1 cup diced tomatoes with chilies
• 1 cup Greek style plain whole milk yogurt

Cook lima beans according to directions on package. Let cool. Puree cooked lima beans in blender with 2-3 cups of water, lemon juice and salt to taste.
In two glass dishes layer beef, cheese, parsley, yogurt, tomatoes fresh and canned, and more cheese. Finish with a light sprinkle of parsley.
Serve immediately or make ahead.

As the sun was going down I tried to get some bokeh floating bubbles.

I asked Georgia to sit and model for me. She found this incredibly boring and made it quite obvious.

So instead I got this really short guy to come with a tiny loader. When he runs it you can’t even see his head in there.

He tried to impress me with it’s power. I was more concerned that he was going to drop the rock on himself, I saw the cheap plastic linkage on the bucket. All around it’s made like a toy, but I didn’t tell him, didn’t want to hurt his feelings and plus I was really trying to get the bokeh.

Then I notice that his brakes really don’t hold on a slight hill.

Because of that I almost didn’t ask him to go up on that rock so I could get the light through the trees the way I wanted. He said he’d go up there and just use the down pressure of his bucket to hold him while I took the pictures. I guess he noticed that I noticed his brakes weren’t holding, I refrained from telling him he had a toy loader so that wasn’t going to work. Instead I just put the “Fred Flintstone brake” behind his back tire.

Afterward I thanked him for his time and asked him what I owed him. He said he hadn’t used any fuel so not to worry about it.

I went out looking for Daffodils in the beautiful unseasonal 75 degrees.

 

But got side tracked by these guys and their moms.

 

The little guys were shy.

 

Black and White warmed up in no time

 

and conned me into getting her some unreachable grass from the other side of the fence.

 

Then she got real close and said “Take my picture.”  I don’t know what she thought I’d been doing.

 

Then this little guy took a step closer.

 

His mom gave me a look

 

She said if anyone messed with her baby or even so much as snickered at him for wiping his nose with his tongue  she’d use her horns or anything else on them.

 

Eventually I did make it to the daffodils

 

and found that the Crocuses were out enjoying the weather too.

 

And remember, check first to see if the mama has horns before you snicker at the kid wiping his nose with his tongue.

I took a slight detour on my hockey road trip this weekend to try to participate in a 48 hour photo scavenger hunt. I tried to take a short cut to the Ocoee overlook, it turned out to be a long cut

 

but it was ok, ‘cause I saw this Tennessee orange clay pond I wouldn’t have otherwise seen.

 

 

Next door to the rink I saw something that would fit for the  “Side by side” clue. I can spot a piece of construction equipment a mile away.

 

 

Then I heard  engines revving and walked through the gate to see what was going on.

The boy was wearing black and white so I was perfectly happy with that for the “Ebony and ivory”.

 

I talked to a guy with a camera, I’m always walking up to people with cameras and talking to them and learning new things, and did I tell you I saw an Epiphanie bag? Yes, the big Paris bag  with enough room for lenses like I don’t own, a laptop and a camera all while looking like a stylish purse! I still like the smaller Stella. Oops, I’ve really wandered,  what I meant was he showed me how to pan. I had read about it and it didn’t make any sense to me then. He told me to put it on aperture priority, close the aperture down to f/9, focus and pan with the car. My trigger happy finger didn’t really believe him completely so I only got a little bit of motion blur.

I will practice this again.

 

I’m the crazy fool who shoots between shifts.

Every once in a while I get something in focus. And that’s tricky with a helmet on.

 

I figured this was fitting for the “I want candy” clue, I didn’t want it to come out like any one else’s. Let me tell ya, NOBODY else too a picture of salad food for the candy clue!

On the way home I spotted these Petes and had to stop though I had no idea what clue they could fit under. 

 

I had the clue ”Bus stop” so I remembered this bus that’s been stopped for quite some time. It was raining and I was lazy so I took the picture through the window.

 

I spotted the calf and thought it’d be perfect for the clue “That’s by baby”. I got out and he ran, ran ran away with that kick both back feet up in that air at same time run just a fat as his little calf legs  would carry him and he didn’t stop running until he was waaay up the next hill. So it turned into the “Get jiggy wit it” clue.

 

For “Purple Haze” I purpled up the  shadows.

I’m glad I participated in the 48 hour challenge because it got me to search out things to take pictures of I never would have otherwise!
